My Story

I’ve been working out for almost 8 years. Before that my life was surrounded by partying, drugs, and alcohol; it was all I knew and wanted. I had no idea of fitness exercising or nutrition. If anything, I used to make fun of people that were stuck in the gym because I thought it was a vanity game. I was very self conscious of my weight especially because a lot of it went to my face. Having family friends and old flings tell me “you’re gaining weight” was a very unsettling feeling and on top of that I was new to being a father.

I started out by running, setting small goals like 1 mile this week, add a mile next week etc. I then saw online there was this mud run race filled with exciting obstacles and immediately was drawn to it. I started conditioning my body with more running, interval training and high endurance body weight movements. This is where I started to format my hybrid style of training you see today. I completed the mud run successfully and that was the fuel I needed to drive me where I am now.

Fast forward a couple years to when I signed up on Instagram, not knowing it would be such a huge impact in my life. I started posting my unorthodox way of training and people started to really dig it.

At first everyone thought I was a crazy “monkey jumping” up and down and doing pushups in a weird fashion, but they eventually realized that this style of training can help with so many outlets in their lives.

I’m constantly learning. I started doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu a year ago and now I’m doing MMA so I can do my first fight by the end of 2019. I always push myself always try to better and improve my weaknesses and I don’t think I could’ve done it without fitness and my family. My son especially, for inspiring me to get off the couch and to be a better role model. He sees me workout and he responds to it genuinely. It’s like he wants to be like his old man and it’s a beautiful thing to see because 8 years ago he would’ve saw something different … and I have this journey to thank.

If you’re someone who constantly wants to be motivated my movements will push you further than what you thought were capable.

If your an athlete, martial artist or bad ass you can take my training and be 10 times more successful with my endurance and strength-building workouts. It took forever for me to learn and master various movements but once I finally did, I fell in love with blending and creating different variations of movement into my own style. I saw for myself through trial and error that it doesn’t need to be just one style of training but all of them fused together to be one.

Today, I now am fortunate enough to be able to inspire millions of people everyday to not only feel better, but live an overall healthy lifestyle.

Endless possibilities: that’s how I see fitness!

Los Angeles hasn’t seen clear skies like this for such a long time! With just a couple weeks of rain, fewer cars and planes out LA has been looking so beautiful. And yes we’re staying safe❤️Finding isolated areas to walk around at least few times a week for at least an hour. We don’t touch a damn thing, we don’t touch our face and we immediately wash our hands when we get inside the house. Other areas are different but for NOW this is our routine. I hope those that don’t have the leisure to leave are staying sane. Use any of my workouts and If you need a sweat to release those quarantine snacks lol try using @tc1gel before your workout. It will ignite such a great sweat and as you put it on 5 minutes later all you want to do is workout from the heat it brings to your body 🔥🙏 Get at @tc1gel today use code MV for 30% off 👊 Hope you guys have a great day. ❤️

Plant based Post Workout Shake by @onnit 🌱
.
It’s been almost 6 months since I’ve adjusted my diet. I use to eat meat everyday. Couple years ago I would eat it 2,3 times a day. And I’ll be honest as I’m writing that I just cringed a little from how much I was consuming, now full transparency, I do and still love meat but my health is more important than me cravings. But here’s why I switched. I’ve had some crazy digestion problems little over a year now, still trying to figure it out but until I get surgery (next month) we really don’t know what the underlying cause is. I’ve tried fodmap diets, lowering the intensity of my training, stopped drinking milk but nothing was really making me feel better until I switched to more greens. You should note that I still do eat meat least once a week. Mainly because I do love a good cheeseburger from In and Out lol but since I cut it out by 90% I’ve not only been feeling better (still have my stomach pain here and there) but overall my mental clarity, and body never felt better! I thought if I stopped eating meat I wouldn’t have energy to lift or be as explosive but 6 months in and I feel amazing! My workouts, my energy and overall health is better. I’m not saying it’s for everyone but I am sharing MY experience so far. I don’t like being restricted to a diet I’m a rebel lol so i won’t say I’m doing this forever but it’s leaning that way and I couldn’t be more stoked about it. Thankful I’m with a company that promotes such great supplements that are filled with amazing nutrients but also has Plant Based Options 🌱
Check out @onnit plant base protein today and Remember We have all sorts of Supplements so if you’re getting any use (MV10) for a discount. Also if you are plant based , recently made the switch or thinking of doing the same comment below I love to read your stories!!
